On Monday, Leicester Crown Court was told phone records and information retrieved from phones recorded Ms Wandelt repeatedly requesting Madeleine's mother for a biological test throughout 2023 and 2024.

Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - when she was three years old during a trip in Portugal - is among the most covered investigations and continues to be open.

'I Am Not Seeking Money'

Another voicemail, shared in court, documented Ms Wandelt stating: "I realize I'm fat and unattractive like Madeleine was, but I know what I feel."

While one recording of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's recording expressed: "What if there is a slight possibility that I am she? What then? Wouldn't that be important for you?"

"I don't want money, I maintain a living here in Poland, I only wish to understand," the message continued.

The panel was told that by means of electronic messages, mobile messages and calls, Ms Wandelt demanded a genetic test, sent childhood photos to her phone in a bid to show a likeness to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and claimed to have "memories" from a early life with the McCanns.

The investigator, an intelligence analyst with Leicestershire Police who collated the data, advised the court there "showed no any replies" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also communicated with close associates of the McCanns, as per the phone records.

On that date, Mr McCann answered a communication from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, saying she had "the wrong phone."

On that occasion Ms Wandelt deposited a voicemail on Mrs McCann's voicemail saying "I will persist and I intend to demonstrate my position."

The court learned the co-defendant established a association through digital means with Ms Wandelt prior to joining her on a appearance to the McCanns' residence in Leicestershire in December 2024.

Call logs revealed Mrs Spragg had contacted using messaging service to Mrs McCann to express the news outlets had portrayed Ms Wandelt as "mentally unstable" but that she deserved to be considered genuine in the months preceding the visit to that location, Leicestershire, in December 2024.

The court heard message exchanges between the two defendants, in November 2024, discussing endeavoring to get Mrs McCann's genetic material from her garbage or from utensils at a restaurant.

"We must make a stand," Mrs Spragg advised Ms Wandelt.

On the night of the appearance to their house, the defendant sent a text which stated: "We find ourselves sat near the McCanns' home with our vehicle dark resembling detectives. I wanted to do this with Peter Andrew I never thought I would be doing that with the McCanns."

The trial proceeds.
