Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with publishing house.
Prolific children's author and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, the company has said.
A representative for the publisher stated: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the decision was taken subsequent to an review of claims about conduct deemed unsuitable towards women.
The firm declined to specify the reasons for its decision, noting: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."
An Illustrious Writing Journey
Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, having sold more than 60 million copies globally in dozens of tongues.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.
A number of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.
He has published more than 40 books altogether, including a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.
A Dual Career
His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.
The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
